Planned and supervised the game experience corner for two consecutive years at an event sponsored by Wacom.

Wacom, a company that manufactures and sells pen tablets and display tablets, held its event “Connected Ink 2024” on November 15th and 16th at the Sankaku Hiroba in Sumitomo Building, Shinjuku, Tokyo. For the second year in a row, Sankei Digital planned and supervised the indie game experience section that was set up at the venue.

This event has been held since 2016. Based on the central theme of “Creative Chaos,” which has been consistent since 2020, this year’s program featured stage sets and workshops focused on “everyday life,” along with a variety of booths. There were also talk sessions with creators active in fields such as art, education, and technology.

IGN JAPAN, the game and entertainment media operated by Sankei Digital, curated a selection of game titles focusing on “everyday life.” The experience area featured four games: “Exit 8,” nominated for the 2024 Buzzword Award and themed around escaping from an underground passage; “Enjoy the Family Restaurant,” where players solve the mysteries of a family restaurant they wander into; “GOODBYE WORLD,” a puzzle platformer that follows the story of two game developers as you play; and “Moonless Moon,” a text adventure that plays like a music video. Many visitors enjoyed trying out these games.

Additionally, members of the IGN JAPAN editorial team, “Moonless Moon” creator Kazuhide Oka, and Wacom President and CEO Nobutaka Ide took the stage together for an event. They discussed the relationship between “games” and “everyday life,” exploring the theme of “A Game Creator’s Everyday Life and Turning Everyday Life into Games.”
