The event “Connected Ink 2023,” organized by Wacom, which manufactures and sells pen tablets and LCD tablets, took place on November 17 and 18 at the Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Sankei Digital managed the planning and supervision of the indie game experience corner set up at the venue.
Since 2016, this event has been held with the objective of exploring new directions in art, human expression, and the supporting technologies. This year’s theme was “Returning to the Forest,” and various programs were organized. Shin Imai from our game label “HYPER REAL” curated four indie games that align with the theme, and managed and operated the gaming experience corner. Through these four games created by emerging creators, visitors were able to explore new realms of creativity.
Furthermore, as the initiator of the program, Imai was involved in “New Motion Art – Body Expression × 3DCG Animation,” where a collaboration between contemporary dance and 3DCG animation was showcased on stage. After the performance, Imai participated in a discussion session and talked about “the value of new motions” with Nobutaka Ide, President and CEO of Wacom, and the performers.
