Daniel Robson, Executive Producer of the game and entertainment media “IGN JAPAN” (https://jp.ign.com/) operated by Sankei Digital, took on roles such as moderator and judge at the Taipei Game Show 2026 held in Taipei, Taiwan from January 29 to February 1.
At the developer-focused conference event “Asia Pacific Game Summit,” a session titled “Indie Insights: From Taiwan to the World” was held, with Daniel serving as moderator. As guests, Angela, co-founder of FromDawn Games, the development team behind “Aeruta,” and Shuhei Yoshida, former SIE executive, were invited. They discussed topics including why the Taiwanese indie game “Aeruta” chose a bakery as its motif, as well as the momentum and unique characteristics of games made in Taiwan. Daniel looked back, saying, “We focused on ‘Aeruta,’ and also had many warm conversations about the comforting properties of bread. It was a truly enjoyable session.”
Daniel also participated as a judge in the “Indie Game Awards 2026” held at the same event and served as the presenter for the “Best Narrative” category at the award ceremony on January 28. PARCO GAMES’s publishing title “The Berlin Apartment” won the Best Narrative award.
Continuing from last year, IGN JAPAN served as the official media partner of Taipei Game Show 2026, delivering live-streamed content on the official IGN JAPAN YouTube channel for two days, January 30 and 31.
At the venue, the IGN JAPAN STORE also set up a booth, displaying samples of products available in the online shop. Discount coupons were distributed to visitors to the booth. In addition, the IGN JAPAN STORE has begun offering overseas shipping, making it accessible to even more game and movie fans around the world.
