Sankei Digital Inc. oversaw the overall planning of Wacom’s “Wacom Summer Festival 2025” event. The event was held on July 30th at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Triangular Plaza. With the theme of “Night at the Candy Shop and Arcade”, the event featured a fair-like setting, a variety of game experiences, and stage events.
This year, Sankei Digital Inc. produced a summer festival project that Wacom, a manufacturer and seller of LCD pen tablets and other products, has held every year. The “fair zone” featured shooting gallery and ring toss booths, an indie game corner with summer-themed game recommendations ranging from slice-of-life games to nostalgic, bittersweet titles, and a game corner where visitors could play games using their physical strength. The stage event included an IGN JAPAN booth.
IGN JAPAN editor-in-chief, Yoshiki Chiba, and drummer/actress Natsume acted as MCs for the stage event, where they played the driving game “SEGA AGES Outrun” and the well-known arcade game “Pac-Man” with visitors. These segments were a hit with the audience.
The drawing message game, “DRAW & GUESS”, as well as the drawing novel game, “Ai Yo Saraba”, were also exhibited. Both titles can be enjoyed using Wacom’s pen tablets. In the Robot Mode of “DRAW & GUESS”, the point of the game is to draw easy to understand pictures for the AI to guess the meaning of. Meanwhile, in “Ai Yo Saraba” (“Farewell to Love”), the setting is in a near future world run by AI, and players’ drawings are judged by a unique AI. Both of these games stimulated the creativity of players, and with help of Wacom’s products, allowed for players to enjoy each brush stroke they made.
