The 13th regular research meeting of the project “I no Chi no Kai,” planned and managed by Sankei Digital Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tatsushi Doi), was held on May 20 at the Kioi Forum in Akasaka, Tokyo.

This project considers the “knowledge” necessary to practice “medicine” amid an ever-changing environment surrounding healthcare and medical science. At the research meeting held bi-monthly starting May 2024, Ms. Kanoko Oishi, President & CEO of Mediva Inc., who specializes in medical and nursing consulting from a “patient perspective,” was invited as the lecturer. She gave a talk on the theme, “Community Hospital Initiatives—Revitalizing Communities and Hospitals Together with General Practitioners.”
More than 30 participants attended, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists from various fields. During the Q&A session, lively discussions were held about the structure of community hospitals and approaches to elderly people in rural areas.
The 14th meeting is scheduled for July 15 at the same venue. The next theme will be “Innovation in Learning and Care in a Declining Population Society Using AI—Beyond Efficiency: The Depths of ‘Human Understanding’ Illuminated by Next-generation AI.” The invited guest speaker will be Yoichi Takebayashi, Representative Director of Kokoro Corporation and Professor Emeritus at Shizuoka University, who also serves as Chairman of the General Incorporated Association for Care Informatics.
